About Evidence Levels

Proven and Promising Programs

Programs are generally assigned either a Proven or a Promising rating, but in some cases a program may receive a Proven rating for one indicator and a Promising rating for a different indicator.

In this case the evidence level assigned will be Proven/Promising, and the program summary will specify how the evidence levels were assigned by indicator.

Screened Programs

Programs in this category have not undergone a full review by PPN, though evidence of the program's effectiveness has been reviewed by one or more credible organizations.

Screened programs may eventually undergo the full review by PPN and be classified as Proven or Promising, but will be identified as a Screened program in the interim.

How PPN Programs Are Considered

All of the programs on our site have been screened for quality and to ensure that they have evidence of positive effects.
