Counselors Care (CARE) is a school-based intervention targeting high school students at risk for suicide. Counselors conduct personalized one-on-one counseling sessions with the students using information participants provide indicating risk and protective factors. Evaluations of the program found that it resulted in lower rates of depression and other suicide risk factors, such as suicidal thoughts, threats and attempts.
